ARTOKLASIA
Is the preparation of five (5) special loaves of bread; a reminder of the miracle of feeding 5,000 people with 5 loaves of bread when Jesus preached in the desert.
Our Priest, at the end of the Divine Liturgy, offers prayers of thanksgiving for those who prepared and offered the loaves and for all the people present in church.
After the service, the bread is cut up and distributed to the
people.
