INCENSE (LIVANI)
Basically it is an offering, it is in the nature of a Sacrifice.
The fragrant offering carries a beautiful spiritual message of our fervent prayers which rise to heaven as sweet perfume; as a token of our respect to the Holy Person and objects; as a means to make the Holy Liturgy more touching in an atmosphere of mysticism. The incense also symbolizes the frankincense offered by the Magi when Christ was born in the Manger.
