| During his lifetime, people were beginning to teach the wrong things about Jesus. The Christians were beginning to divide themselves over the teachings. St. Athanasios defined and explained the teachings about Jesus. The Church finally won out with the teachings the way St. Athanasios defined them. .
He was the creator of the seven articles of the Creed, "The Pistevo" which we recite at each Divine Liturgy every Sunday. (Also celebrated on this day is Athanasia).
