APRIL 29
FEAST DAY OF ST.
JASON
|
St. Jason served as Bishop of Corfu (Kerkyra) and succeeded in bringing the teachings of Christ to the masses. The success of this mission in Corfu angered the Ruler and he decreed that St. Jason be disgraced by wretched means, which was distasteful to the Ruler's daughter named,
Kerkyra.
When Jason was imprisoned, Kerkyra visited him and was won over by his preaching and became a Christian convert, a conversion that was to cost her life. A new Ruler, who was a Christian, succeeded the pagan ruler in Corfu so St. Jason was able to continue his work and died of old age.
