G.O.Y.A. (Greek Orthodox Youth Association), the mission and goal of The Greek Orthodox Youth of America (GOYA) ministry is to lead our young people into experiencing the Holy Orthodox Faith. We aim to help our youth develop a personal relationship with our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ and becoming active sacramental members of the living Church.
G.O.Y.A. is a ministry to junior high and high school grade Orthodox Christian young adults. When children become 12 years of age, they are encouraged to join G.O.Y.A. to participate in the youth and young adult activities our church offers. Activities such as these include trips to New York City to help the needy and the poor, fundraisers such as car washes to provide the poorer populations and communities surrounding the Greater Bridgeport area.
Being a part of G.O.Y.A. has created some very strong friendships for our youth and has helped them experience their Faith and culture in a loving environment. Our children are the future of the Greek Orthodox church and they should be guided to have a continuous relationship with our church and the Greek Orthodox Faith. Through events such as creating the Church Christmas card, visiting St. Michael’s home, and having get together’s to social outings such as visiting New York City to watch the famous Blue Man Group are some of the things that the Holy Trinity G.O.Y.A. has and will do during the year.
